Effect of soil amendments on the control of bacterial wilt of potato.
1996
Tosiah S.
A study was carried out to determine the effect of soil amendments in controlling bacterial wilt disease. Results showed that the incidence of bacterial wilt was lower in plots applied with chicken droppings than in plots applied with palm oil mill effluent (POME) or its combination with urea, calcium oxide and S-H mixture. The trial also demonstrated that the higher nitrogen content of POME (4.38 percent) over chicken droppings (2.35 percent) has no bearing on bacterial wilt incidence.
