The objective of the research was to find out the correlation between 1. the leadership of "opinion leaders" and the successfulness of the transmigration program, 2. the educational background of the leaders and their experience of agriculture and the successfulness of the transmigration program, and 3. their daily activities and the transmigration program. The data were collected with snow ball sampling of 20 respondents by giving questionnaire and conducting interviews. The data were analyzed with ranking Spearman Correlation by considering t-test 95 percent and 99 percent. The result shows that by considering the indicators: decision making, initiatives, influence, and group building, the leadership is the strategic factor that influence the correlation between the five chosen characteristics above and some efforts to reach the successfulness of the transmigration program. The result also shows that the degree of nonformal education and activities of the leader have correlation with the successfulness of the transmigration program.
