Heritability and correlation studies in chilli [Capsicum annuum L.].
1984
Lakshmaiah K. | Murthy N.S.
Studies on heritability, genetic advance and association between yield and yield components of 16 crosses and five varieties of chilli indicated high heritability for all the eight characters studied. Expected genetic advance, as percentage of mean, was high for number of pods per plant and yield indicating possibility of yield improvement through direct selection on the basis of yield and number of pods per plant. There was significantly positive association between pod number and pod length, plant height and maturity, pod girth and seed weight and days to flowering and maturity and pod girth.
