Every 5 months the fertility per boar was analysed. These were examined: the degree of usefulness of boars, i.e. the number of copulations and number of sperm doses; the percentage of conception from the first insemination after weaning and the litter size, so as the quality of litter. 11 boars of the B breed, 7 boars of the C breed and 3 boars of the D breed were included in the investigation. The following conclusions were made: there was a great variability between the percentage of conception and the total number of born, alive born and weaned pigs, not only among the boars of different breeds, but also among the boars of the same breed. The differences were statistically significant and very significant. The B breed of boars had a litter with more piglets than those of the C and D breed of boars. Boars of the D breed gave significantly more resistant pigs, which resulted in significantly less number of death till weaning (0,63 pigs per litter) in relation to the B and C breed of boars. The results were in relation to the results of other authors.
