The effect of long-term (since 1923) or short-term (since 1976) liming on the content of available and reserve forms of macro- and microelements in soil as well as on yield of plants and their chemical composition was investigated. The lime effect on soil and plants was, despite small differences in the soil pH value, much stronger in the long-term than in the short-term experiments.
