Aflatoxins production by Aspergillus flavus in 4 different groundnut lines was compared using seeds with different maturity levels and kept under different temperature regimes. The experimental results indicated that seeds of the resistant lines (PI 337409 and PI 337394 F) supported less aflatoxins production than that of the susceptible checks (Tinan 9 and SK 38) regardless of the maturity level, storage temperature or storage duration. The level of aflatoxins content increased in seeds of the susceptible lines with prolonged storage. Such an increase was not detected in seeds of the resistant ones.
