The paper deals with the frequency of microorganisms and their enzymatic activity in soil samples from the alcoholic distillery dump. The results obtained show that the frequency of ammonifiers, total number of bacteria, actinomycetes, fungi, nitrogen fixing bacteria, cyanobacteria, oligonitrofilic bacteria, cellulytic microorganisms, as well as the activity of dehydrogenase, urease and the cellulase complex of enzymes are reduced and changed. The process of biological fixation of atmospheric nitrogen is reduced. In last phase of recultivation of the studied soil, microbiological preparations must be applied with the aim to activate microbiological processes in the soil.
