Coefficient of production time exploitness (CTE) in working process of investigated hay press for forming cylindrical bales was somewhat lower (0,555 - 0,727) in dependance to hay press type and conditions of work than by working with classical press(CP) of high pressure. Slowdowns are irrelevant in relation to classical presses. There are no significant differences in passing through press ability. The moving speed of set of joined mechanisms, the space of hay rolls, mass weight in roll and CTE were of great influence to investigated hay press efficiency. By CP with high pressure are carried out considerable less losses of alfalfa hay, than by press for forming cylindrical bales (PCB). PCB with volume changeable compartment has greatest losses while pressing alfalfa hay from 10.05 - 11.23%. The press with constant compartment and metal rollers has greater losses than PCB with constant compartments and bands. The losses of alfalfa hay are decreased if the moisture content is higher during the process of pressing by all types of presses. The great influence on shape and cylindrical bale compactness has the uniformness of hay roller and way of directing the press in process of work, i.e. uniformness of loading press compartment with mass. The fuel consumption while pressing alfalfa hay is lower by using PCB than by CP with high pressure. The bind consumption is higher on CP with pressure than on PCB. Estimating the fittness of investigated manipulations with bales the priority is given to cylindrical rolls.
