The purpose of this thesis was to study the way of inheritance oil content, grain yield and yield components in maize. Also, the effect of heterosis, degree of heritability, as well as interaction between basic gene effects and environment. Obtained results showed that oil content is controlling by additive gene effects. Dominance gene effects had 3,5 times lower value than additive. The presence of nonallelic interactions was not detected. In genetic control of grain yield, dominance gene had the biggest influence, with considerable presence of epistasis. In inheritance of kernel row number estimated value of additive gene effects was greater than dominance gene effects. Additive-dominance model was adequate, which means epistasis was not present. Dominance gene effects and duplicate type of interaction between dominance gene cotrolled kernel number in row and 1000 kernel weight.
