A field study was conducted with wheat (Pak-81) to evaluate the effectiveness of three fertilizers as a source of P along with Farm yard manure (FYM). The fertilizer source was diammonium phosphate (DAP), nitrophos (NP), and single super phosphate (SSP). The rates of N,P2O5, K2O and FYM were 120, 60,60 and 300 kg ha-1, respectively. These P sources applied along with FYM were compared in terms of increase in grain yield and soil P concentration. The order of effectiveness was NP>SSP>DAP. This indicates that the efficiency of NP was increased greatly when applied with FYM than the other P sources. However, there was no significant (P>0.05) difference in soil P and tissue P concentration, when NP was applied alone or in combination with FYM. In case of soil properties with the application of FYM, change in CEC was not consistent, pH remained unchanged, while organic matter content was significantly (P>0.05) increased.
