The theory of information is an appropriate tool for the judgement of entropy (biodiversity, equitableness) of forest ecosystems and evaluation of their ecological classification. Definitions of basic absolute and relative information characteristics and coefficients of information dependence on inputs and outputs of event probability arrays are given. An example of global changes of species composition (DRZ %) from School Forest Enterprise (SLP) in Zvolen shows a need for complex multifactorial nonpopulistic evaluation of the influence of global climatic changes (gzk) on DRZ and the influence of other factors (also subjective) that increase entropy, such as for instance activity of the forest manager.
