Obtained results proved efficiency of mass, phenotypic, recurrent selection for high grain oil content for both investigated populations per se and in interpopulation crosses. Observed direct response to selection in populations per se were 15.13cycle(-1), i.e. 12.80cycle(-1), while indirect response measured in interpopulation crosses amounted to 14.35cycle(-1). Agronomic traits of these populations changed simultaneously with increase of oil content. Grain yield decreased in one, and increased in the other population along with the oil content increase, over cycles of selection. Genetic drift was not important in one population, while it caused increase of oil content in the other one. Genetic drift in both population caused grain yield reduction. Both populations could be used as a source for development of inbred lines with the high oil content, high grain yield and the other important agronomic traits.
