The paper analyzes the existing situation of the water of the Ibar river in Kosovska Mitrovica - Leposavić on the concept of sustainability of water resources of the Ibar. This region is reasonably subject to monitoring, because the field testing of the river Ibar from the place Ribarić to the Raška established that the analyzed region of the watercourse, Ibar river banks and surrounding are improperly and illegally most loaded industrial waste and sewage areas. Studied area of Kosovska Mitrovica - Leposavić is under the protectorate of UNMIK and EULEX, which are prescribed as valid laws for water management, and waste management. Enough for practical application of their laws are very similar to the laws of the Republic of Serbia. Pollutants listed in the investigated measured area were eliminated, which would have a positive effect on water quality, coastal and coastal lands of the river Ibar.
