Применение гербицидов и подсева трав при улучшении сенокосов и пастбищ

In the conditions of the western part of the Republic of Belarus on dry meadows with the steady degradation of grass stands of 5-8 years of use, there were realized studied of the chemical methods of weed control, minimal cultivation of grass sod and undersowing of grasses for the improvement of hayfields and pastures. Application of herbicides selective effect as well as the glyphosate-containing preparations in combination with the surface mechanical soil cultivation and overgrassing of leguminous grasses, made it possible to transform them efficiently into highly productive forage grasslands with high ratio of leguminous component. Research results showed that for the control of weed miscellaneous herbs in old-sown meadows it was efficient to realize application of herbicides in combination with overgrassing with meadow clover (Trifolium pratense L.). It made it possible in 1-2 year time to transorm them into highly productive grass stands. Amine salt 2,4-D, starane-250 in a dose of 2,0 liter/ha reduced the weediness of old-sown meadows from 51 up to 5%. Herbicide 2М-4Х (2 liter/ha) suppressed weed herbs less efficiently, but promoted increasing of a ratio leguminous grasses in the structure of grass stands. Productivity of old-sown meadows increased in 1,3-1,5 times after weed killing by the selective method on the basis of 2,4-D and starane-250 with the subsequent overgrassing with meadow clover.
