Español; castellano. Se utilizaron diferentes técnicas de diagnóstico con el objetivo de evaluar los elementos del sistema de ciencia e innovación de la rama porcina. Se realizó un análisis documental y se aplicaron encuestas y entrevistas a investigadores, técnicos, especialistas y directivos vinculados directamente al sistema. Se realizó un taller de expertos donde se identificaron las debilidades, amenazas, fortalezas y oportunidades del sistema a partir de las encuestas y entrevistas realizadas. Las principales insuficiencias del sistema se sintetizaron en la necesidad de fortalecer aquellas actividades que permitiesen articular los resultados de introducción directa derivados de los proyectos, con la extensión y generalización de los mismos en la práctica productiva. Entre las necesidades del sistema se destacaron la necesidad de ampliar la capacitación al sector campesino y lograr una mayor visibilidad de los resultados de investigación del Instituto. Se sugiere que se hace necesaria la formulación de una propuesta del sistema de la ciencia y la innovación de la rama porcina que seria coordinado por el Instituto.

Inglés. Elements of science and innovation of the pig industry were evaluated by using different diagnostic techniques. A documentary analysis was conducted and several surveys and interviews were carried out to researchers, technicians, specialists and managers directly connected to the system. A workshop of experts was made where identified weaknesses, threats, strengths and opportunities of the system from surveys and interviews. The main shortcomings of the system are summarized in the need to strengthening joint activities for allowing direct entry results from projects, considering its extension and generalization into the productive practice. Among the needs of the system highlight the expansion of training the peasant sector and to achieve a greater visibility of research results from the Institute. It is suggested that it is necessary to formulate a proposal for a system of science and innovation of the pig industry, to be coordinated by the Institute.
