The impact of European Union enlargement on Egyptian agricultureal exports

The agricultural exports are one of the most important sources for foreign exchange. It is also promoting exports sector is necessary to achieve overall economic development. The European Union is the most important trade partner for Egypt so any change to the (h(J) will have a raised directly or indirectly on the Egyptian exports to it The period (2004-2007) joined a dozen countries to (EU)to become the number of members from 27 countries expected to be. What was happened the changes will have an impact on the Egyptian agricultural exports. The study aimed to investigate the effect of EU enlargement on the structure of commodity, trade and agricultural cooperation between Egypt, the enlarged European Union and to shed light on the competitive position of the most important of Egyptian agricultural exports in the markets of the acceding countries. The study included five chapters, in addition to the forefront of showing the importance of the study, the problem, the goal and the way research have been addressed in the first section. Section two is the evolution of the structure of commodity and trade exchange between Egypt and the European Union before and after the expansion, chapter three includes the current situation of the development of foreign trade of agricultural countries acceding to the European Union while the uniqueness of chapter four about geographical distribution and the competitive position of the Egyptian agricultural exports in the markets of the acceding countries to the EU. Chapter five includes vision of the future for Egyptian agricultural to (E U) The study consists of a summary in Arabic and The study showed that the most important Egyptian agricultural exports to the enlarged E U are cotton, potatoes, rice, grapes , dehydrated onions, oranges, fresh onions. As well as to be considered a group of twelve, which joined (EU) net importer of cotton , rice, dry onion, grapes, lemons, oranges, cucumbers, potatoes and potato frozen tomatoes, while net exporter of anise, strawberries. As a growing market share of Egyptian rice in the Bulgarian market and oranges increased Egyptian market share in Poland, potatoes, strawberries, tomatoes, and anise in the Czech market, while the decline in market share of the Egyptian onions dry in the Romanian market and cucumbers in the Czech market.
