Undigested rumen contents, obtained from abattoirs, was dried and recycled as a source of wheat bran in the concentrate mixture of male calves. Calves in experimental group were fed on a diet, in which dried rumen contents (DRC) replaced 20 and 40; of wheat bran of the concentrate mixture, offered to the control group. The daily feed intake and average daily gain (ADG) were not affected by the inclusion level of DRC. However, the feed: gain ratio was numerically better in the control group than in experimental groups. The intake and digestibility of nutrients except that of NDF were not affected by the dietary level of DRC. Calves maintained normal homeostatis in all the groups as evident from the serum metabolite profile and the hematological parameters. These result indicated that the sun dried rumen content may safely be incorporated in concentrate diets of bull calves by replacing 2040; of wheat bran leading to a total inclusion level of 510; in the concentrate diet.
