Summer Anoestrus: A Major Cause of Reproductive Failure in Buffaloes.

Summer anoestrus or silent heat is one of the major causes of reproductive failure and economic losses where buffaloes are concerned. Various factors like environment, nutrition, housing and management affect the anoestrus condition. Treatment of anoestrous may be both therapeutic as well as preventive. To overcome summer anoestrus various ameliorative measures like environmental modification, nutritional, breeding, suckling management and hormonal therapy are recommended.
