The objectives of this investigation was determination of the best sowing date and seed rate of berseem clover (Trifolium alexandrinum ) in double cropping after canola. The experiment was carried out in split plot design with three replications in 2006-2007. The sowing dates included: 6,16 and 26 July in main plot and seed rate were 20,25 and 30 kg/ha. in subplot. The results showed that highest fresh and dry forage yield harvested from first planting date with 19261 and 4778 kg/ha, respectively. The effects of seed rate were no significant for dry forage yield, but highest yield were obtained 30 kg/ha. The results of this study represented that double cropping of berseem clover after canola is recommended for Shahrekord region and other area with similar climate. In this method we could product three crops include: canola , berseem clover and wheat in 2 years period in crop rotation that is better than canola _ wheat rotation.
