With regard to climatic conditions of the provinces under study, the low content of soil OC negatively affects the sustainability of agriculture produces. By providing metabolic energy and driving forces for biological process in soil organic matter, makes the nutrient available to the crop and acts as an important soil fertility factor. OM has also a sound effect on physical and chemical soil properties. One of the principales of sustainable agriculture is to preserve or increase soil OM content in long term. The main objective of this research was to determine the amount and spatial distribution of soil organic carbon (OC) in the soils of areas under wheat in Fars, Khuzestan and Golestan provinces. The soils were sampled on a of 1km*1km grid. The soil samples were analyzed for OC. After getting the laboratory results, a data file including the laboratory results was submitted to Soil and Water Research Institute for the purpose of correlation and quality control. The maps of spatial distribution of OC were produced by research ledear in Arc GIS environment, using geostatistical techniqus. Separate albums were made available for each province includeing maps of individual soil fertility variables.
