The article is focused on the investigation of the economic dimension of individual farms in the Republic of Moldova. First, it describes the difference between the economic dimension of farm size, expressed in money measure and physical dimension, expressed in hectares. Second, it describes the methodology of calculation of the economic size dimension, based on Standard Gross Margin (SGM). And last, it discovers the dependencies between the economic size dimension and other indicators, reflecting about the possibility of its implementation in Moldova as a useful tool of agricultural policy.
