The author is considering the current global financial crisis and its effect on the economy and agriculture of the republic of Serbia. The history of crisis and the domino effect is also being analyzed. Consequences for (agro)economy of Serbia are negative. Agriculture, which has been for a long time in unfavorable position, is particularly affected by the crisis. The author proposes measures and actions to mitigate and overcome the crisis. Radical changes are needed at the global and national levels, micro and macro level.
