Thirty European varieties of pea were analyzed on yield and crude protein content. Correlation between yield and crude protein content was negative high (-0.52 ... -0.82) in wet years 2005, 2006. Correlation betweenthese traits in extremely wet year 2008 was very small (-0.12 ... 0.06). varieties with conventional leaves had coefficinet of correaltion -0.82 in 2005, -0.81 in 2006 and -0.12 in 2008. Semileafless varieties were characterized by coefficient of correaltion -0.59 in 2005,-0.52 in 2006 and 0.06 in 2008. Semileafless varietieshad less tight correlation than ones with conventional leaves. These facts give the base for producing new pea varieties with high yield and large content of protein.
