The main objective of this study consists in determining the power of tree growth and the most important fruit quality properties in two pear cultivars (Williams and Santa Maria) grown in high density p[planting system under ecological conditions of Cacak. The vegetative growth and main physical and chemical properties were evaluated. The results showed that fruits of Williams had higher fruit weight and width than Santa Maria, as well as the higher surface area and fruit volume values. On the other hand, titratable acidity content in the fruit was higher in Santa Maria, while Williams had a higher content of soluble solids and ripening index value. In terms of tree vigor, differences between cultivars were not significant.
