Sector of information and communication technologies (ICT) can be considered one of the most dynamically developing spheres, not only from economic point of view. ICT activities are demanding in light of human and innovative potential and, therefore, they develop irregularly in space. Region of Nitra (area of Nitra Self-governing region) is considered to be a peripheral region. The article describes theoretical basis of ICT influence on regional development and presents conceptions of concentration and deconcentration. Then, it characterizes ICT sector development and allocation of different types of ICT firms in Nitra region. Based on the secondary research it can be stated that ICT activities are densely concentrated in districts with strong central towns. Differences in allocation of ICT activities on urban-rural axis are apparent on districtual level, on regional level, this allocation is balanced
