The lower reserve of water in the soil, high intensity radiation and high temperature often lead to significant losses to crops. These negative effects of climate change can be mitigated through appropriate choice of plant species, improving water management and irrigation systems. One of the solution is to use genotypes that even in difficult conditions will result in yield with reasonable quality. Therefore, the aim of the study was to monitor the physiological parameters of four genetic resources of pea (Xantos, Svit, Novozélandský, Debrecényi Galamb). The influence of water stress was tested on some physiological parameters - stomatal closure, relative water content in leafs, osmotic potential and osmotic adjustment. Among tested genotypes, semileafless cultivars (Xantos and Svit) showed the higher capacity for osmotic adjustment during increasing drought.
