The humus content was monitored in the vineyard during five years in two layers of the soil (0.0-0.3 m and 0.3-0.6 m). The cultivated cultivar was Muller-Thurgau on hight training system. Variants of the soil cultivation: N - control, without soil cultivation, T - mechanical, traditional soil cultivation, M - mechanical mulching in interrows, R - spraying with sublethal, retardation doses of the herbicide Roundup, P - spraying with full, lethal doses of the herbicide Roundup. During the experiment the mineral and organic fertilization was not used. The experiment had been founded 4 years before the evaluation of the humus content started. The soil samples were taken in the half of May. After five years (9 years after the experiment founding) the humus content was highest in the variant M with mechanical mulching of plants in interrows (2.03% in layer 0.0-0.3 m and 1.29% in layer 0.3-0.6 m). The lowest humus content was in the variant P with full, lethal doses of the herbicide Roundup (1.08% in layer 0.0 - 0.3 m and 0.80% in layer 0.3-0.6 m) and in the variant T with mechanical soil cultivation (1.09% in layer 0.0-0.3 m and 0.94% in layer 0.3-0.6 m).
