The process of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) represents complex evaluation of impacts of proposed activities and proposals of strategic development documents (Strategic Impact Assessment - SEA) for environment already in the preparation stage, even before their approval and acceptance. It represents an efficient and necessary instrument to prevent origination of major causes of deterioration of environment componets. Building erosion protection techniques may influence the quality of environment, either positively or negatively. Negative impacts of these techniques are eliminated by application of legal act nr. 24/2006 Coll. on Environmental Impact Assessment, which contains possible negative and positive impacts of erosion protection techniques on the environment.
