MEDIUM-DENSITY FIBERBOARD (MDF) is a panel product produced by compressing fibers of wood while simultaneously bonding them with an adhesive, which is manufactured to a density of 450-800 kg/m3 (EN: 316). T0 this day we have not MDF-factory in Syria, where as we imported hugely amount of MDF from abroad for furniture industry and carpentry works Syria Imported 500000 m3 Medium Density Fiber board (MDF) (FAO, 2003), while the global MDF- production in the same year 4414000 m3 (FAO, 2003). In case we are willing to establilish MDF-Factory, we lack to wood as raw materials and we have protective forests, which we must be protected, preserved and non-depleted and look for other cheap raw materials resources for this industry as the Wastes by-Product of Cotton Oil. Cotton seeds which left by the cotton ginning process go to the cotton oil industry and result the following wastes: 1-The white Lent: Waste resulting from the first razor of cotton seeds. 2-The gray Lent: Waste resulting from the second razor of cotton seeds. 3-The Shardoup: Waste resulting from screening and cleaning of Lents. 4-Hulls of cotton seeds: Waste resulting from the separation of seeds hulls and pulp by screening. 5-Al-Kesbah: Waste after the oil has been extracted from roasted pulp with hexane. 138 While white lent and gray lent ixported to japan and Germany with remunerative prices but Al-Kesbah sold as feed and Al-Shardoup and seedshulls sold with cheaply prices, so that we found it is important to raise the economic value of this wastes through search the Possibility of Manufacturing Medium Density Fiber board (MDF) from some Wastes by-Product of Cotton Oil. Usually the Medium Density Fiber board (MDF) is making from Hardwood and Softwood, However, the Manufacturing Medium Density Fiber board (MDF) from some Wastes by-Product of Cotton Oil (Shardoup and seedshulls) is still not yet Quested. Research objectives: 1- Manufacturing Medium Density Fiber board (MDF) from some Wastes by-Product of Cotton Oil (Shardoup and seedshulls) through the study of: the impact of the ratio of adhesive (14%, 16%, 18% urea formaldehyde) in the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of MDF-Models. The impact of the ratio of harder (1%, 2%, Ammonium sulfate) in the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of MDF-Models. The impact of the ratio of Formaldehyde scavenger (1%, 2%, urea) in the physical, mechanical and chemical properties of MDF-manufactured Models. 2-Study of the economic revenue for MDF-manufactured Models. Materials and Research Methods: The research material (Cotton seedshulls, Shardoup) has been shipped from the general organization for oil in Aleppo to the laboratory of wood industries in the 139 Faculty of Agriculture at Damascus University after it was manufactured twelve models of Medium Density Fiber board (MDF) for each of Cotton seedshulls and Shardoup average three panels each according to the method adopted standard industrial German (DIN, 1999) and used in research centers wood in Europe to test the possibility of use a wooden initial for Manufacturing Medium Density Fiber board (MDF) , according to manufacturing conditions applied in the German and European factories. Then were estimated the physical, mechanical and chemical specifications for models manufactured by European industry standards, (DIN, 1999; Hameed, 2007) and compared with the standard values of the physical, mechanical and chemical specifications: A - Test the moisture content according to the European industry standard (EN 322). B Test the density according to the industrial industry European (EN 323). C - Test the water absorption after 2 and 24 hours according to industry standard European (EN 52351) D Test the Cross-Swilling after 2 and 24 hours according to industry standard European (EN 317). Also the mechanical specifications of manufactured models have been tested in Strength of Materials Laboratory at the Faculty of civil Engineering at Damascus University in accordance with the European industrial standards: - Test of Static Binding Strength by Standard European Industrial Norm (EN: 310). 140 The chemical specifications of manufactured models have been tested in the Laboratory of wood researches at the Faculty of Agriculture at Damascus University in accordance with the European industrial standards: - Determination of Formaldehyde release from manufactured models by Standard European Industrial Norm (EN:717-3) WKI (Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institute) flask-Method (DIN, 1999). The statistical analysis of the results has been using the Completely Randomized Design, method of analysis of variance ANOVA level of significance 0.05 and (PCA) Principles Components Analysis in using the software Statistica 8 and R.
