The positive balance of foreign trade of the food industry still has an important role in the stabilisation of the balance of the foreign trade of the Hungarian economy. The aim of the paper is to present the position of Hungarian foods on the market of European Union since the accession and to evaluate thecompetiveness of product groups by different comparative advantage indices. The market position of Hungarian food groups is studied in the relation of change of export price and of change of market share on the market of European Union.
