Social-economic, rubber plantations operational and mental factors affecting environment and health status, of rubber farmers, Amphoe Sadao, Changwat Songkhla

Objectives of this research were to determine factors relating to an environment and health status. Rubber farmers were randomly selected, 154 famer households served as respondent. Results showed that socio-economic variables were education level, expenses of rubber production, household income and debt. Rubber plantation practice factors were rubber maintenance, weeding and pest eradication and rubber tapping practices. Mental factors were job satisfaction, impact on land preparations, chemical fertilizer application and weeding and pest eradication to environment and health, and sustainability of rubber plantation were correlated to environmental impact. Socio-economic factors were expenses of rubber production, household expenses, debt and perception of information. Rubber plantation practice factors were rubber plantation preparation, fertilizer application, rubber plantation maintenance, weeding and pest eradication. Mental factors, job satisfaction, impact of land preparation, impact of chemical fertilizer application, and impact of weeding and pest eradication to the environment and health were correlated to health status of rubber farmers.
