We have examined the influence of additional introduction of L-carnitin in the dose of 50 mg/kg on the productivity and biochemical indicators of blood of fattened pigs. We have estab-lished positive influence of the supplement on slaughter and meat qualities. They increased the output of carcass in pigs (by 0.9-3.2 %), the output of lean meat (by 3.5-6.3 %), the area of 'muscle eye' (by 16.8-21.3 %), the content of meat in the body (by 4.4-6.4 %) and the level of protein in meat (by 1.46-3.04 %). The most desirable changes in the indicators were noticed in the group, where L-carnitin was introduced during the whole period of fattening. Increase in slaughter and meat qualities of fattened pigs is combine with higher content of general protein, reduction of the level of glucose, urea and cholesterol in the blood of pigs, which got the L-carnitin supplement, and that testifies of the normalization of protein and fat metabolism
