In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were presented results of research into the concentration of mineral substances and glucose in the blood of horses with different duration of intrauterine development in age dynamics. As a result of researches it is established that carbohydrate metabolism most intensively took place in an organism of horses with an oblong and average duration of fetal development. Besides, the average level of glucose in blood of horses of the Belarusian draft breed made 3,73 mmol/l that is 24,2% lower, than at the Trakehner breed (Р less than 0,001). It testifies to high energy needs of horses of riding type. The metabolism of calcium, phosphorus and magnesium has slight deviations and is practically at one level at animal all groups. Concentration of ferrum in blood is higher at horses with the oblong period of prenatal development that is characteristic for both breeds. On the basis of the received results it is possible to claim about high intensity of exchange processes and protective reactions of horses and, therefore, the best adaptation abilities of horses with an oblong duration of fetal development.
