In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were analysed theoretical aspects of sustainable development of the national food system. The mentioned problem proved to be topical for Belarus, the economy of which dynamically cooperates with economy of other countries. The approach to definition of a steady development of the national food system principles and a corresponding technique for calculation of sustainable development indicators is offered. The developed in course of the study indexes could be recommended for use for determination of sustainable development factors. In course of the study there was presented calculation of the complex assessment of sustainable development of the food system. As a result of the study there was proposed a system of factors of sustainable development of the national food system: financial and economic; conjunctural and competitive; socially orientated, scientific and innovative; international; and judicial.
