In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was carried out the analysis of relationship of polymorphous variants of beta-lactoglobulin gene with milk performance and milk quality indices in brood cows. Statistically significant effect of BLGB allele on protein content in milk (up to 3.32 %) has been determined. No significant effect of polymorphous variants of beta-lactoglobulin gene on milk yield indices has been revealed. During researches in the tested herds there was revealed a polymorphism of a gene of beta lactoglobulin with identification of genotypes of BLG (AA), BLG (AB), BLG (BB). Milk samples of cows with different genotype on loci of beta-lactoglobulin gene in their physical and chemical and technological traits met all the requirements of SRB (Standards of the Republic of Belarus) 1598–2006. It has been determined that milk of cows with BLGBB genotype had higher protein level (by 5 %), higher lactose (by 2.5 %) and dry matter level (by 15.7 %) as compared to milk of cows with BLGAA genotype.
