Technology of feed packaging into polymeric materials has been widely adopted and proved itself as cost-effective, reliable and supplying consistently high results. There are recommended several varieties of this technology: storage of hay and grass silage by compressing the raw material with the help of roll or square balers, followed by individual winding of rolls or bales with a film; packaging of the rolls into the polymer sleeve with a special wrapper; wrapping of chopped haylage or silage in large polymer sleeve with the help of specialized press packer. Under the conditions of the Republic of Belarus the most promising way of packaging of silage appears the third one – laying of ground mass in the large-diameter polymer sleeve with a press of the packer. For the implementation of the technology in the country, special technological complexes are developed and utilized in the production of technological systems of general-and special-purpose. In addition, the production of packaging materials is preparing. According the technical capabilities of machines belonging to the technological complexes, the cost-effectiveness of the technology of fodder packaging is calculated.
