The main trends of intensification of milk production are presented in the book. The most important physiological peculiarities of digestive system of cattle, including the processes of chewing, digesting and fixing of nutritive elements, vitamins and antibiotic substances by micro flora of animals' digestive tract, are analyzed. The process of provision of high-quality feeds for cattle is described; the most important technologies of procurement of hay, silo and haylage are evaluated. Main characteristics of root and green feeds are analyzed according to nutritive value, protein and carbohydrates content, lipid and mineral value, vitamin composition. The most essential directions of feeding process's organization are enumerated. Among them are: feeding of springer cows, feeding of lactating cows, utilization of compound feeds, composition of rations, pasture feeding, prophylaxis of alimentary diseases. Technology of milk producing is evaluated in details, including animals' housing systems, formation of technological groups of cows, substantiation of milk yield increase, development of milk quality, physiology of milking, technology of milking, exploitation and maintenance of milking equipment, herd management, animal diseases and veterinary aspects of dairy industry, factors influencing economic indexes of milk production. Technology of replacement heifers' growing is presented according to the next requirements: production potential of young animals; influence of inherited and environmental factors on the process of receiving of healthy calves; new born calves peculiarities; feeding and housing of young animals; prophylaxis of animals' diseases; evaluation of economic efficiency of replacement heifers' growing; level of fertilization of heifers.
