Evaluation of cherry fruit cracking

The objective of this trial was to evaluate the influence of calcium spraying on sweet cherry cracking reduction. The foliar fertilizers Wuxal SUS Kalcium and Kalkosol 25 were chosen for testing. The sprays were applied repetitively until ten days before harvest. Cherry cultivars with different cracking susceptibility were included in the trials. Weight, firmness and percentage of cracked fruit were evaluated. The results varied every year but there no significant influence of the spraying to the fruit cracking reduction.
