A floristical study on Euphorbiaceae in Iran

Euphorbiaceae with about more than 7500 species is known as one of the largest flowering families of plants. There are six genera including Acalypha, Andrachne, Chrozophora, Euphorbia, Mercurialis and Ricinus in Iran. Genus Euphorbia with more than 2200 species is known as the second largest genus after Astragalus. There are more than 90 species from the genus of which 20 are endemic of Iran. Iran is one the main biodiversity center for the genus Andrachne and Euphorbia subgenus Esula in the World. During taxonomic study on the present project, two new species, seven records, six synonymous and re-investigation of about more than ten rare species are reported.
