The objective of this study was to investigate reproduction performance in the 1st parity and older sows in Latvian Landrace sows’ population, and to estimate the heritability of these traits. The data from 14618 of the 1st parity and 30321 of the 2nd and older parity sows born from 2000 to 2012 were included in the analysis. Four reproduction traits in the study were analysed: the number of piglets born alive (NBA), the number of piglets weaned per litter (NW), 21-day litter weight (W21) and an interval from weaning to insemination (WII). The 2nd parity and older sows gave more live-born and weaned piglets with bigger 21-day litter weight than did the 1st parity gilts. The effect of the year and the farm on reproduction traits was observed in the first and later parity. Heritability was estimated with single traits animal model using REML procedure. Estimated reproduction traits of heritability obtained from linear model analysis were less (0.034 to 0.199).
