This study was carried out to obtaining the sutable spring onion genotypes for cultivation at Esfahan province. This experiment was conductd with 17 Iranian and foreign onion genotypes in Kabootar abad Agricultural Research Station Esfahan during 2005-2007. The experimental design arranged in a RCBD with four replications. The results showed that the local genotype Qom White, produced the highest total yield, and Kashan White (local genotype) and Yellow Sweet Spanish var. were at 2nd and 3rd ranks, respectively. Yellow Sweet Spanish, Sterling hybrid and Red Dorcheh local genotype, had the First to third rank marketable yields, respectively. The Sterling hybrid var. had the highest, either total or marketable yields, in comparison of other foreign varieties. Local genotypes had more dry matter than foreign varieties. The nitrates content in genotypes were significantly different, and nitrate content had negative correlation with dry matter of onion bulbs.
