Morphology and development of the River Miegupe valley during Late-Glacial | Miegupes ielejas morfoloģija un veidošanās leduslaikmeta beigu posmā

Inglés. In this paper carries out results of field survey, desk-based studies and processing of data of the River Miegupe valley – tributary of the River Gauja. Methods of sedimentology, analysis of lithofacies, geospatial analysis and morphological analysis are used. New accurate and precise data are obtained on this river valley and possible spatial transgressive formation. Formation of Pleistocene and present-day surface topography of the River Miegupe valley and its adjacent area started in the Linkuva deglaciation phase when the Burtnieks ice lobe lost activity. Further development is related to possible outbreak of the Smiltene local glacial lake through still the undeveloped valley of the River Miegupe. Formation of terraces can be correlated with development of the River Gauja valley, and presumably starting from the second part of the Allerød.

Pētījumā izmantotas sedimentoloģiskās, litofāciju, ģeotelpiskās un morfoloģiskās analīzes metodes. Iegūti jauni, augstas precizitātes dati par Miegupes ielejas morfoloģiju un iespējamo attīstību. Miegupes ielejas un tai pieguļošās teritorijas pleistocēna un mūsdienu virsas saposmojuma veidošanās aizsākās Burtnieka ledusloba Linkuvas ledāja fāzes deglaciācijas posmā. Turpmākā attīstība saistāma ar Smiltenes lokālā ledus sprostezeera noplūdi pa vēl neizveidoto Miegupes ieleju. Virspalu terašu veidošanās korelējama ar Gaujas ielejas attīstību, iespējams, pat sākot ar allerēda otro pusi.
