Study on the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of onion (Allium cepa L) cultivars
1991
Noori Mogadam, R
To study on the qualitative and quantitative features of twelve long day onion cultivars, an experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with four replications for two years in Karaj. The best cultivar was selected and introduced using comparison of yield and qualitative traits of cultivars. Each plot included two rows with lengths of 4 meters and area of 7.5 square meters. Distance between rows was 62.5 cm. 3.75 square meters of each plot following to elimination of margin area was considered as a harvested area. Simple and combined analysis of variance was done on yield. Least significant difference test was used to comparisons of means. According to the results of yield and qualitative traits, Sefied-e- kashan with yield of 68.4 tons/ha had superiority to other cultivars and Ghermes-e-Azarshahr had the best storage ability
