Yellow (stripe) rust, caused by the fungus Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici is an important disease of wheat in most parts of Iran. Use of resistant cultivar is the best method to control of disease. In order to evaluation resistance of 262 Wheat and Triticale advanced genotypes to stripe rust in adult and seedling plant stage, this study was carried out at Maragheh, Karaj (greenhouse), Fars, Mashhad, Moghan and Miandoab research stations in 2010-11 cropping season. Seedling stage test was carried out in controlled condition at greenhouse with pathotype 64E0, YrA+, Yr27+ according to the 0-4 scale. This pathotype has virulence on genes (Yr2, Yr6, Yr7, Yr9, Yr27, YrSU, YrA). And field assessments were based on disease severity according to the modified Cobb scale (Peterson et al., 1948) and disease reaction (Roelfs et al., 1992). Based on the seedling and adult plant reactions, the results showed that, from cold region 79 genotypes (57%), moderate region 75 genotypes (86%) and from warm region 31 genotypes (83%) had acceptable reaction to yellow rust. In the seedling test more than 60 lines showed resistance to pathotype 64E0, YrA+, Yr27+ which confirm of present of seedling resistance gene/s. Remaining lines were moderately susceptible - susceptible to yellow rust disuses.
