Importing plant material from abroad and their assessment of qualitative and quantitative characteristics will lead to selection of quality and high yielding lines that can be used for transferring desirable traits in hybridization programs as well as introduction of new varieties of rice to the farmers. Therefore, the thirty-sixth set of international rice medium maturity with 110 pure line with three international check and one local check with total of 114 treatments in the Augmented experiment of randomized complete block design in five replications in 2010 in Rasht and Amol was implemented. The purpose of this assessment qualitative and quantitative characteristics of lines for to use good lines in order to introduce them to the farmers and was used in breeding programs. after Sowing in the nursery and agronomy crop care, seedlings in plots the size of 4 / 1 Χ 5 m and 20 Χ 20 cm in the main farm was planting space. All planted required agronomical activities during the growing season was implemented and in harvest and post harvest stages traits such as yield, plant height, fertile tillers per plant, Panicle length, weight of 1000 grain, the number of filled grains per panicle, days to 50% flowering and grain quality was measured and recorded. According to the of analyses in Mazandaran and Gilan,19 and 15 genotypes were selected .these genotypes with acceptable vigor and phenotype , suitable height and number of tiller , reaction to pests and diseases, , yield and grain quality had a significant advantage compared to the other lines. The selected lines can be further evaluated to introduce as new rice variety or used in breeding program
