Sagebrush (Artemisia spp) is one of the most dominant plant genera in khorasan rangelands. In order to determination of best time of harvesting seeds, an experiment carried out in ten regions including Bojnurd (ghorkhod, Baghlegh and Biou), Mashhad (kordian), Torbat-e-jam (cheshmegol), Sabzevar (ghods, nordab ) and Gonabad (Bymorgh, ostad and Bajestan), from 1993-1995. At first, the collected plant specimens were identified as following: A. sieberi in Torbat-e-jam, Sabzevar and Gonabad A. diffusa in Ghorkhod and Buglegh, A. kopetdaghensis in Biou and A. aucheri in Kordian. In addition investigate aspects consisted of: I: Harvesting sagebrush seeds from the formation time to falling time every ten days. Also, flowering stage was studied. II: Evaluation of germination seeds percentage after harventing and storaging for 4, 8, 12 months and incubating under 20°c and 12°c for the first and second years, respectively. III: Analysing the results: the results of experiment were analysed as factorial trial and cRD with 4 replicates in each site every year. Above results were combine analysed again as cross - nested design. Obtained results indicated that all species came to flower stage, to bear seed stage and to maturate seed stage in the times of Oct. (6-20), Nov.(later) and Dec. (1-10) respectively. for all species, Average of strile and fertile florets in each capitol were %78 and %22 respective. The optimum times for harvesting seeds in each site were as following: chesmeh gal, Bymorgh, Ostad, Ghods. Nordab and Kordian.
