Determination of the best sowing date of squash cultivars in Winter Cultivation in Khuzestan.

In order to determine the appropriate sowing date of squash in Khuzestan region an expriement was conducted in a split plat completely randomized block design with four replications in 1999 for two years. Three swoing dates including 9th Feb and 24 Feb and 10th March was the main factor and cultivars were the sub factors in the first year three cultivars including Rs 132 F1 Rada, Clarita SL5 and Claritte and in the second year two cultivars FDS 101 and FDS 202 used in the experiment each treatment planted in a 5 meters long lines and 2 meter withs and the distance between the plants on each line was 50cm in each treatment fruits from every two middle lings with omision of 0. 5 meter from each and harvested results in the first year showed hybrid cultivar Clarita SL5 with 26470 Kg/hec average yield and sowing date of 24 Feb with average yield of 20400 Kg/hec were the best treatments. In the secand year the results showed first sowing date with average yield of 19100 Kg/ hec and cultivar FDS 101 with average yield of 16707 Kg/hec were the best treatments.
