An experiment was conducted to evaluate performance and carcass characteristics of three commercial (Ross, Arian386 and Arian 488) broilers. The experiment was performed in 2 similar poultry house with 14 replicates and 700 day-old chicks. Feed intake, weight gain, feed conversion and mortality was measured weekly. At the age of slaughter (42 and 49 days) carcass weight, leg, breast, liver, heart, abdominal fat were measured. The completely randomized block design (CRBD) was used for this experiment. The weights of chicks in strains at the start of the experiment were different, so for investigating of performance in different weeks we use it as a covariate. The result showed that at the age of 41 (days) body weight, feed intake (g/h), livability (%) and feed conversion affected by strain, but uniformity of birds were similar. At the age of 49 days, body weights and livability were affected by strain (p0.05). So according to this result, Ross had a best performance. According to result carcass percentage were not affected by strain. At the age of 41 days Ross and Arian 386 had a highest breast and leg percentage respectively. At 48 day, breast percentages in Ross strain was the highest among strains (p0.05). Key word: Commercial broilers -Performance - Carcass characteristics : Abstract
