New Rose Cultivar, Purple Dew with Purple Colored Petals

A new rose cultivar, Purple Dew was selected from the progenies of a cross between Boy Friend and GSR10315 by rose breeding team of the Gyeonggi-Do Agricultural Research and Extension Services in 2009. Purple Dew was crossed in 2006 and seedlings were produced. After the evaluation of specific characters from 2007 to 2009, it was finally selected and named. Purple Dew has standard flower type with purple color (RHS Color Chart Red Purple Group N66C). The leaf glossiness is strong and it is resistant to powdery mildew. Purple Dew grows vigorously, it takes 48 days to flowering and cut flower productivity is 164.1 stems/m2 in a year. The length of cut flower is about 70 cm and the fresh weight of cut flower is 39.3 g. It has 10.5 cm in flower diameter, 52 in petal numbers per flowers and 12 days in vase life.
