The paper presents the results of a comparative study on the mesostructure and functional activity (net photosynthesis, photorespiration, energy efficiency of photosynthesis) of the photosynthetic system of the flag leaf and ear in Triticale genotypes differing in the productivity. The mesostructure parameters of the flag leaf and lemma photosynthetic system have been shown to enhance with the level increase of the plants productivity regardless of the genotype (hybrid, variety, parental forms). In this context, the quantitative characteristics of some mesostructure indices are double in comparison with the flag leaf. Unlike hybrid genotypes, the parental forms are characterized by an increased level of CO2 exchange and energy efficiency of photosynthesis, while the ear photosynthesis rate in the genotypes studied is lower than that of the flag leaf, and the respiration rate is higher than that of the flag leaf. An inverse relation between dry matter accumulation by plants and the correlative seed productivity of Triticale plants was revealed.
